Reviews of My New AG Stuff (pics included!)

Hello,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! This is the first time that I have ever gotten American Girl things for Christmas, and I am very impressed with everything. Since my brother got a new digital camera for Christmas, I got his old one and now I can take pictures! I'm just reviewing everything that I got, and I hope this helps anyone who was thinking of buying something or just for your reading pleasure [img]smile.gif[/img] Enjoy!

Addy

Addy is truly a beautiful doll. The catalogue pictures just don't do her justice. Her face has SO much character to it, and she seems so real. She comes in the pink dress and it suits her very nicely, I think pink is one of her best colors. The stockings and undies are very cute, too. Her little black boots are sturdy and shiny. Her hair is incredible! I love styling it. If anyone is debating buying Addy because of her hair, don't worry about it! Her hair is probably one of the funnest to style.

Addy's Accessories
Addy woudn't be complete without her pretty straw bonnet. It has a nicebow at the end, and frames Addy's face nicely. I was very impressed with the half dime. It was so shiny, and AG even included a little leafleat with information about the history of Addy's half dime, along with the water gourd, and kercheif.

Addy's Tartan Plaid Dress

Okay, I am SO impressed with this outfit. I think it's one of the best outfits AG has ever made. It has a very nice feel to it, and has a very pretty fringed sash. It also comes with a shiny green ribbon to use in Addy's hair. It looks beautiful on Addy, I LOVE it!

Addy's Kite flying Outfit

I love the sort "off the shoulder" design
of Addy's kite flying dress. This is a wonderful set. It gives Addy the simple, summery look. The kite it comes with is adorable, and so realistic. It also comes with a pretty checked bow for Addy's hair, and bright trading cards.

Addy's Nightgown, Heartwarmer and Slippers

Addy's nightgown is great quality. It is so soft, I would love to have one myself [img]redface.gif[/img] I'm sure she finds it very cozy also! Her heartwarmer and slippers gives this outfit a very comfortable, warm look. The color of the heartwarmer accentuates Addy's beautiful skin tone.

Addy's Lunch

The tin pail and checkered cloth that Addy's lunch comes with is so cute! I love all these accessories, because it makes me feel like I'm really getting into Addy's stories and personality. The meat pie and grapes are a bit small, but still very nice. My favorite part about the set though was the L-O-V-E cookies. It's just so heartwarming because it was a part of her stories, and it's nice to see that Addy is teaching her mother how to read. The cookies are also kind of sparkly, to maybe make it look like there's sugar sprinkled on top [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Kirsten's Blouse And Skirt + Knit Woolens

I am also very impressed with this outfit. The skirt smelled a bit funny, but the smell has pretty much vanished. The blouse is simple and pretty, and has a nice feel to it. The skirt has some nice flower designs at the waist, and green and red stripe of fabric bottom of the skirt. The hair ribbons are very detailed and look great on Kirsten. I am especially happy with the knit woolens. They are extremely well made, and I love them because they have a Swedish feel to them. They are so soft, too. I also love the hat, and the puff on the end is so full!

Kirsten's Summer Dress and Straw Hat, Red Boots and Fishing Set

I love the light blue and white stripes on Kirsten, they look very nice with her coloring and hair. The hat is very pretty also, and the cherries give it a vibrant, but simple look. The red boots are awesome! They are so bold and sturdy, really complete this outfit (along with Kirsten?s winter outfit!).
The fishing set came with a basket, to hold the trout, which is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. A smaller basket with a checkered cloth, along with three grasshoppers who seem very real, a little green frog and three trout. The fishing rod it came with is also very cute. The three trout look and feel so real! They feel kind of squishy...lol. Great set!

Marisol's Tap Outfit

This is probably my favorite outfit that Marisol has. The bodysuit is good quality, with little sequins at the end of the sleeves and in the middle. I LOVE the fringed skirt, it is very full and great quality. The bowtie looks great, too. The hat and cane were a lot better quality than I expected, because they had a lining of something over the sparkles. The only thing that was questionable was the fishnet tights. They look wonderful, but snag easily with the Velcro. Overall, an amazing outfit!

Star Pajamas

The Star Pajamas are an adorable set. They feel so silky, and look exactly like pajamas I would wear. The also come with cute little red slippers (which are a bit hard to keep on). The look incredible on Marisol, but the picture isn't bright enough to show everything [img]frown.gif[/img] /

Sightseeing Outfit

This is a very cute, sophisticated outfit. It looks so cute on Marisol (I have concluded that everything looks good on this doll lol). I love the tweed skirt and boots. There is Velcro down the back of the boots, so they are not too hard to put on. The shawl and beret really complete the outfit. Just don't brush your doll's hair while she's wearing the shawl because the brush can snag it. Awesome set!

I've had the St. Lucia set for years-but no Sari! She is very cute, and looks like a smaller version of Kirsten. She is also a bit bigger than I expected. I'm happy that I've finally completed the Christmas part of Kirsten's collection!

You mentioned that Kirsten's black winter skirt smelled weird when you got it. I bought that outfit a few months ago and the skirt smelled like gasoline for several days! It eventually wore off, but it was overwhelming straight out of the box!

Just a heads up for anyone who has this outfit-I'm sure you all would have noticed this, but my skirt "shed" on the white shirt a lot. I kept a piece of the tissue paper from the box to fold the skirt in when Kirsten's not wearing it, just to protect her other outfits. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]
